Locking wheel nuts when the key has gone walkabout
The key lived in the glovebox of the leased car until the last owner kept it. We see this constantly on the new closes off the Luton Road and the flats near the station. If a tyre needs to come off and the lock is the only thing in the way, we deal with the nut rather than sending you to a main dealer in St Albans in the morning.

Questions we get
Will you mark the wheel?
The aim is a clean nut and an unhurt rim. If a nut is so far gone that the only option risks the alloy, we stop and talk it through.
Can you do the nuts without fitting a tyre?
Yes, if that is the whole job — for example you need the wheel off for someone else. Say so when you message.
