A puncture we will actually inspect before we patch
A slow hiss on a Redbourn driveway is not automatically a new tyre. If the wound is in the middle of the tread and the carcass is sound, a proper repair keeps the matching set and costs less. If it is in the shoulder, we will not glue it and send you toward Luton Airport on a tyre that will open up.
What that means on the ground
- Inspection first, plug talk second
- Repairs only in the repairable area of the tread
- We will not ‘just get you to work’ on a shoulder cut
- If a replacement is the only safe option, that figure is given on the spot
Questions we get
Can every puncture be repaired?
No. Sidewall, shoulder, a previous botched plug, or a hole too wide: those need a new tyre. We would rather lose the repair than send you up the M1 on a tyre that will fail.
How long does a repair take?
Once we are with you and the wheel is off, a straightforward tread puncture is a short job. Finding you on a new-build street in Batford is the part that varies.
