Bikes carried upright and strapped, not laid on a deck
A bike is not a small car and it does not travel like one. Ours goes on strapped and upright, with the weight sitting where it should, whether that is a scooter that has died outside Harpenden Station or something with panniers still on that has stopped by the Common. Tell us what it is and whether the wheels still turn — that is what decides the kit we bring.
How the job runs
- Strapped upright, with the fairings and the bars left well alone
- A flat on a bike is usually a collection, not a kerbside change
- Dropped at home, or at the bike shop you already trust
- Scooter, adventure bike, or something low and long: say which

Could you fit a bike tyre where I am?
Not as a rule. Bike tyres and the balancing that goes with them want a workshop and a proper stand. We bring the machine in to one instead.
It is in an underground bike store.
Send a photo of the ramp and the way out. Some of the newer blocks are tight enough that we would want a look before promising, and it is better to know than to arrive and shrug.
